About Us

Hi, I’m Yolanda. I am gratefully recovering from the heel pain of plantar fasciitis.

I can’t say that my feet are totally healed or that they never hurt. But my feet are a LOT better today than they were seven or eight months ago when they throbbed with pain even when I was sitting down.

Today I can hike a few hours and take a daily 40 minute walk without fear I’ll be in pain. And it’s still getting better.

My story

I don’t know exactly when it started but in the spring of this year, my feet started to hurt, a lot. Especially the heel, which burned and throbbed and felt like I’d badly bruised it all the time. I was seriously worried that I would be stuck with this for the rest of my life.

So why the Heel Health blog?

Yolanda and Lobsang

When I first developed plantar fasciitis this spring, I looked high and low on the Internet for answers about how to heal my heel pain. There is a ton of stuff out there, but there was no one user-friendly place on the web I could go to get answers to my questions.

The medical sites have good information sometimes but are awkward to use. And then there are a lot of long, horrible sales pages crammed with flashing ads for night splints and inserts. I would have loved a friendly, easy-to-use website with solid, helpful information on how to get better.

Since I am a web producer and editor, and my husband, Lobsang Wangdu, is a webmaster and photographer, we decided to create the kind of user-friendly site that would actually help a person with plantar fasciitis.

I want to share with you what I have learned, and continue to learn, about healing from heel pain. We are launching the Heel Health website and business in January 2013 with the goal of creating a friendly, valuable source of information for all of us recovering from plantar fasciitis.

If you have heel pain from plantar fasciitis, I hope my experiences and research can help you recover completely.

And finally, please read this carefully:

It’s important that you know that I am not a doctor and am not offering any sort of medical advice or recommendations based on any professional medical capacity. I’m just someone like you who has heel pain and wants both to heal the pain and to share my experience with other people who can benefit from what I learn along the way.

Everything on Heel Health is based on my own personal experience of recovering from plantar fasciitis, from talking to my doctors or sports injury experts, or just plain online research. Everything I know is freely available to anyone who wants to put in the time and energy to find it.

As a business, the goal of Heel Health is to provide you enormous value in helping you recover from plantar fasciitis. We are not into hard sells, but rather hope to earn your trust and offer you value. We are happy to have you on the site whether or not you buy one of the products that we recommend as affiliates or click on one of the ads on the Heel Health site, or buy one of the informational products we will release in the future. Helping as many people as we can recover from heel pain is a great way for us to pay forward the many gifts we have been given in this life.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we hope to see you on the blog sometime soon!

Here’s to our heel health!
